Dermal Filler Treatments
What are Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers provide a non-invasive, non-surgical method to achieve a more youthful look by elevating and enhancing your cheeks, lips, and jawline. They effectively diminish wrinkles and folds, the prevalent indicators of aging, resulting in a rejuvenated appearance that can make you appear younger. They can also be combined with anti-wrinkle treatments.
Treatment Areas
Temple £180
As we age, the temple area experiences volume loss, which can lead to a hollow appearance in the upper face. Dermal fillers can be used to restore volume to this area and rejuvenate its appearance.
Tear Trough £250
Tear troughs, often referred to as dark circles under the eyes, can arise from volume depletion in that region, resulting in an aged and fatigued appearance. Fillers administered in this area aid in restoring a seamless transition from the eyes to the cheeks, effectively mitigating the issue.
Cheeks £180
As time passes, the cheek fat pad, also known as the 'malar fat pad,' gradually descends due to decreased volume. This can significantly impact various parts of your face. Dermal fillers can play a role in enhancing your cheekbones' definition and addressing areas where volume has diminished.
Nasolabial Folds £180
These folds originate from the sides of the nose and extend down to the mouth's corners. When the cheek descends, it can accentuate these lines, resulting in more pronounced folds. Dermal fillers provide assistance in this region, helping to restore harmony to the mid-face by supporting the area and reducing the appearance of these folds.
Lip Lines £180
Vertical lip lines appear on the top and bottom lip. The appearance of these lines can be vastly improved with Dermal filler.
Lips £180
Numerous factors contribute to the attractiveness of lips, encompassing features such as the border, volume, equilibrium, and symmetry. Dermal fillers possess the capability to not only augment the appearance of youthful lips but also add volume to lips that have experienced the effects of aging.
Jawline £180
When the jawline lacks definition, dermal filler can be applied around the jaw area to enhance its shape and contour.
Marionette Lines £180
This region can become more noticeable and start to droop due to pressure from the mid-face and the consistent tension of a muscle called the Depressor Anguli Oris. This effect can impart a sad and aged appearance to the face.
Chin £180
The chin might seem undersized or concealed in the lower part of the face. Applying dermal fillers to the chin area can create an elongated facial appearance and, in certain instances, contribute to the appearance of a more pronounced profile.
Jowls £180
Jowls, or sagging of the lower face is caused by a loss of collagen and elastin creating an ageing effect. Fillers in this area help to re-create a jawline and restore facial harmony.
Rhinoplasty £250
Rhinoplasty, sometimes referred to as a “nose job” or “nose reshaping” by patients, enhances facial harmony and the proportions of your nose. It can also correct impaired breathing caused by structural defects in the nose.
F.A.Q.
Dermal Fillers can last up to nine to twelve months and in some cases longer depending on how fast the body metabolises the product. Lips are a high activity area as we use them all the time, this can impact how long the results will last.
The most common side effects occur within 24 hours post-treatment. These include swelling, bruising, redness, and tenderness.
Immediate side effects usually disappear within days. However, depending on the type of dermal filler used, it can take a few weeks. At NH Aesthetics, we strongly encourage a review appointment which is complimentary 2 weeks post-treatment to discuss your treatment results.
Dermal Fillers feel like a slight pinch, and you may experience slight pressure or a ‘stinging’ sensation as the product is being injected. Everyone experiences pain differently and has different pain thresholds. However, a topical anaesthetic can be used if needed.
You will see the proper results of the treatment in just 2 weeks.
- Avoid Makeup for 12 hours post treatment. Keep hydrated and drink plenty of water. Filler plump with water.
- Do not touch the injection area(s) as you may introduce bacteria and cause infection.
- Do not massage your treated areas and try to lie on your back during the night after your treatment.
- You may feel some tenderness, redness, swelling and bruising around the injection site, which may be present for up to two weeks post treatment.
- Avoid alcohol for 24 hours (increases swelling and bruising risk)
- Avoid blood-thinning medication such as ibuprofen/Aspirin for 48 hours. If in pain, paracetamol can be taken (if not allergic)
- Do not expose yourself to extreme movements, exercise or hot temperatures for 48 hours post treatment.
Avoid sunbeds, saunas, steam rooms, waxing, bleaching, tweezing or using hair removal cream on the treated area for 2 weeks post procedure.
Swelling, bruising, lumps/bumps, unevenness may appear for the first 7 days after treatment. This is mainly due to the swelling and inflammation. These side effects usually subsides and settle down 2-3 weeks following treatment
You may find it helpful to apply iced gauze/pack to the treated area or use Arnica cream/tablets to help reduce bruising.
Treatment is immediate and side effects can take up to 14-21 days to settle. Treatment longevity varies between each individual, depending on skin type, metabolic rate, muscle activities and other factors which can contribute to the metabolic rate of the dermal filler.
